Hey guys I'm getting ready to install my fuel pressure gauge on my 01. 5 CTD and I'm going to install a pressure snubber to take the pulses out. I was interested in knowing what you guys think the right orifice size to use. I spoke with both the engineers at Autometer and at Westach and they both say to use an orifice type snubber in lieu of the porous disc type but they don't have a recommendation as to what size the orifice should be . 004, . 008 or . 015. The . 015 has a micron rating of 215 or something like that. What would you guys suggested?

There's link in here somewhere... Do a search for snubber... if you don't find it I think I have the link in my computer at work... I might even have the box mine came in out in the garage with the part number... but I know I got the info for the web site and part number off TDR... this web site has everything... if it's not here it's not anywhere!

Here's the link www.mcmaster.com. The part number is 4034K1. I just got it a couple months ago and it was $6. 85 plus a few bucks for shipping. They have a couple distribution centers... mine came from L. A. and was here in no time. I don't remeber what micron this one is but it was the one recomended by a TDR guy... I think it's 10... you can look it up on the website... works perfect with the brake hose deal from Geno's.

snubber (needle value)

Used a 90 degree needle valve (allows you to set the dampening for any level you want... ) which has worked really well. got a good pic in my readers Rig's collection.

Rgds,

Ralph-

RHeron, It looks like you are running regular fuel line with barbed fittings. How is this working out for you. Any problems with them pulling off under pressure? Also where did you find your needle valve?

Thanks

Frank
