My lift pump was replaced at the dealer the other day (under warranty), and I picked it up today. My Fuel pressure gauge hits 9psi and stops. I can put the pedel to the floor and it stays at 9psi the entire time. Shut off the truck and it bleeds down to 0psi. Start it up, spikes at 9 and stops. I cant figure it out. I have blead out the air in the line from the I-pump to the Isolator and the anti-freeze filled line to the gauge. Both had a little air in them. Still no different. What ya think? Could it be that my Isolator is only rated for 15psi? And that the gauge trips out due to too much pressure?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. Believe it or not simply tapping on the face of the gauge freed it up. after a wekk it worked fine and I never looked back.

If the gauge worked before the LP was changed, you may have gotten a new bad lift pump? I would pick up a small mech. FP gauge and do a under the hood temp hook up and hope for 14psi at idle. At least this way you will know what to replace next, providing the taping on the gauge didn't work out.

ok, so after letting it run for a while and running around, it finally moved. stayed at 12psi driving around town. At idle it pegs past 15psi (15 psi gauge). I cant get it lower than 6-7psi at WOT... but that was a long hold of the pedal, was doing over 100mph, 1200* on the pyro, and pushing 40psi boost... so I let off :-laf . Anyway, I dont get it... it stuck again on my way home tonight... but it was fine earlier. I really dont think its the pump, as when it is "stuck" the gauge doesnt react to the right foot, but when its not "stuck" it does/ To me I guess it really sounds like a "stuck" gauge that works its way loose. No idea.

You know Autometer is pretty good about replaceing defective stuff. They honered there warrenty by replaceing a pyro sender for me and gave me a free pyro bung bushing when I couldn't get the old one out of the Chevy I sold. As a matter of fact the pyro sender was purchased slightly over the 12 month warrenty period but like I told them it took me 3 months before I actualy installed it. Give em a call, I would.
