Read lots of good info here about this.

So lets say I get the adapter from TST and use my boost gauge to do occasional testing. Does this send fuel into the cab? Any bad side effects on the boost gauge? Do we clean the line of fuel before reconnecting back to boost port, or what?

Thanks.

I can't see any problem with a little diesel in your boost line. If you are concerned use a short length of hose with a inline fuel filter in it, it will form an air pocket that will take a very long time to fill with diesel and run past into your boost tubing and cab.

TST indictates that fuel in the boost line or gauge presents no problems other than "potential" fire danger. Mark is also saying he would feel safer w/ the plastic line than a copper one due to the high vibration atmosphere of the Cummins. I'm thinking about taking an extra step & using a SS braided line from Summit that I believe should handle vibration & chaffing the best. I'm currently going w/ this TST setup. Only problem is a nitpicking one. My "fuel" gauge will say manifold pressure. Oh well, at least all 3 gauages will match & the boost gauge I'm using now as a fuel gauge monitors pressure smoothly & I find it easy to read.

Mike, I run a mechanical fuel gauge. What I did is run the small plastic tubing inside some heavy wall 1/4" id tubing to protect it. Did the same with my boost gauge, it's been going for 5 years and 127k with no leaks, I feel the fuel pressure gauge tubing will last just as well.

I think you have a good idea there but I wasn't sure regarding the connection points but w/ your milage & time on that setup, doesn't look like a problem.
One thing for sure, if you don't have the gauge, your driving around blinded to any potential problems.
