Hi I just installed my Geno's Billet Fuel Filter Cap and hooked it up to a Auto Meter Phantom gauge. Now my gauge fluctuates constantly between 8. 5 and 9. 5 at a idle is this Normal???

Mine runs to an isolator and ran bout 6 at idle but would drop to 0 at wot, this was before the air dog now bout 16 at idle and 14 at wot.

Diedelram,

Are you running a aftermarket lift pump to get that pressure?

Nick,

Thanks I will try to locate a needle valve today and give that a shot.

btw what type of pressure would one see if the lift pump failed? 0 PSI?

Thanks

Mine will stay right around 8. 5-9 at idle and won't move much. Maybe a little as the heaters cycle, but that's about it. Can pull it down to a little under 6 with foot plastered to the floor. Haven't had a chance to check it with a load 'cause I just put new gauge in tonight.

Mine runs at about 6 at an idle, 5 if it's about 15 degrees or colder. With normal driving, I drop about 1. 5 psi. At WOT, I can bring it down to zero.

Update, thanks to TDR members, I installed as suggested a snubber in between the sender and the fuel filter cap, that still had the gauge fluctuating, so I then installed a needle valve and after a few adjustments the gauge is working fine.

I am indicating 9-9. 5 at an idle and around 6 at WOT.

Still wondering what type of pressure one would see with a failed lift pump and the engine still running off the HP pump.

Thanks again TDR

Any suggestions on where to find good install directions for Diprocol Fuel Isolator and guage?

Thanks,

Jon

Dieselram... If that's on you 01. 5 it doesn't mean much to a 3rd Gen... Different fuel pump set up... ;)

I bought mine from Geno's and the instructions were pretty good.
