Just got my autometer, electric f. p. gauge, and while reading the destructions that came with it, it stated to remote mount the sender. I was going to just screw it into the billet filter cap I got from Geno's. Anyone have any recommendations either way?

Thanks

Kris

They want you to remote mount it to isolate the sender from the vibrations of the engine which will cause damage to the sensitive electrical component in the sender. Instead of direct mounting it, why not run a short length of fuel hose from the cap to the sender to isolate it somewhat. I've had mine that way for over a year with no problems. About 12" to 14" of fuel line.

I mounted mine with stainless braid fuel hose with a banjo bolt to the pump and was getting a vibration you hear at certain RPM's. I found several members with the same problem on this site and took their advise and moved the banjo bolt to the bottom of the filter housing and have had no problems. I was able to get to bottom of the filter housing without removing the front wheel well liner on the driver side. I did'nt want to go with the filter cap for having to deal with the isolator or hose while replacing the fuel filter.

He's going with an Autometer electric like I did so you just have to unplug the harness and unscrew the cap, no big deal. An isolator though is tough to deal with and when I switched to Di Pricol I kept the isolator going to the cap for about a minute until I realized what a PITA it was going to be when it came time to change the filter.
