I am looking for a permanent fuel pressure gauge. (I just ordered Briar Hoppers temporary gauge) but I not not like the ideal of a mechanical gauge because of running fuel into to the cab. Does someone make one with an electric sending unit?

I have an AutoMeter electric fuel pressure gauge, it reads up to 15 psi. Cost a little over $200. Ouch. Piers has started the ball rolling at Isspro, requesting that they make us a decent fuel pressure gauge in 0-30 psi..... there was a thread he started in the products forum, asking that we email a "Kelly" at Isspro and request that they produce such a gauge.

As for mechanical gauges, AutoMeter has a version available with an isolator, to keep fuel out of the cab...

And... . check out www.nordskogperformance.com they have really great electric/ digital fuel pressure gauges. Other members have said that Summit Racing offers the best price on Nordskog.

I just put an Autometer mechanical guage in the cab. I used braided steel line and a restrictor, so I'm not worried about it. Gas would be different, though. Seems like the electrical FP gauges crap out fast.

SPA, if you like digital

I've been using the SPA gauge for about 10 months now, great product. My personal opinion is that the electric sender with the SPA is stronger than the others. While mine spent about 4 months of it's life pre-filter, the rest have all been post filter, at the bottom of the fuel filter canister outlet, connected right to the pressure port, no snubber. Still working like a champ for me.

Love my SPA EGT/boost, but went with www.dakotadigital.com for fuel gauge. Less than 100 clams for gauge + sender; I'll spend a few dollars more on wires and switches at Radio Shack, plus a few more for fittings and a banjo bolt. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the SPA, but more than enough to get the job done.

just ordered

thanks fpr the heads up on the Dakota gauge, ordered it w/sender & went to Geno's for a steering wheel pod. Sweet set -up. Thanks----Proflow

Gauges

Does anyone have the pod set-up on a 01. Either middle dash or on the left. I am trying to figure out what kind of gauge pannel I am going with and I am leaning towards the pod over the A-pillar. If anyone has one can you post a pic? Thanks. Also will the Vac/Bst digital gauge from Dakota Digital work as a good boost gauge... If I can I would like to stay with all the same brand of gauges and type. Keep it lookin nice in the truck if they all match. :D Thanks for posting the site HC those are some nice lookin gauges by DakotaDigital

Calfroper, I lived in Gillette for 18 yrs. until last May. In any event, I have the 2 gauge pod from Banks that sets on the left corner of the dash. It's ok as I'm 6'2 and can see over it. However if I had to do it again, I'd go with a pillar mount--BUT I would only do the pillar mount if you get the smaller size gauges. I looked at X-10's pillar mount a week ago and it's sweet. Apparently the gauges I have are 2 5/8 dia. and the ones he has are around 2 1/16. Sorry can't remember the brand name of his gauges. Mine are Banks.

gauge mount

Do your self a favor & look into the tripple mount that goes in the center of the dash. There is no restriction of sight, looks factory, doesn't restrict visibility etc... ... I have no regrets. Bought from Doug at Diesel Trans. (great company)----Proflow

WWEVERET,

After lots of net searching I found A VDO pressure gauge 0-30 psi. Goto www.egauges.com 1-800-303-6211

Pressure gauge #350-502 $28. 88

Sender #360-043 $32. 06 (Light kit included)

I just installed it, works great. Idle 15psi and WOT 11psi.

Good luck, Paul.

I love all five of my Dakota Digital gauges!!!

The vac/boost gauge works very well.

I can't imagine needing or wanting more features than these have!!

WWEVERETT

No trouble at all. The direction were simple and clear. Get a 18" flexable grease gun hose and a female/female 1/8" npt coupler tingy. Not sure what to call it, You also need to call genos garage and get a replacement banjo bolt so the grease gun line can screw into it. All not expensive and most auto stores carry them.

Great that is just what I wanted to here. I talked to a guy at a diesel performance shop today and he said that the lift pump failing would no way cause the injector pump to fail. That sure isn't anything like what I have been reading here.

If I installed 2 fuel pressure senders units (1 for prefilter, 1 for after filter) to one gauge with a on/on toggle switch wired inbetween, would that affect my readings? If this would work I could monitor the filter condition and the lift pump output by only adding one gauge in the cab.

I really like the looks and adjustablity of the Dakota digital gauge. Oo.
