Finally received my Autometer fuel pressure guage. Only thing is, it does not come with the line from the fuel pump to the isolator. It will take Autometer about 3 weeks to send me the braided hose. Can I use the grease gun extension hose method or what would be my other option. And how long of a hose do I need I have seen post where others have used 18" to 3 feet. Does the grease gun have correct size fittings?

You can get the hoses you need from Summit Raceing, look under gauge accessories, then under Autometer tubeing and access. I bought a fuel pressure gauge from them on Fri. it was at my front door on Mon. Great service and good prices.

The size depends on where your hooking into, if filter houseing you could get by with 18 in if you come off the injector pump you may need a couple feet or so. Hope this helps.

Fuel Pressure Lines

I had my hoses made up at a local shop. They are not SS braided, but fill the bill perfectly. I opted to use 32" lines and ran them from the inlet of the fuel filter to the sending unit mounted on the firewall near the master cylinder and from the outlet of the fuel filter to a sending unit mounted on the left side of the engine compartmen to the rear of the fuse box.

Right now I am only able to read post filter pressure because I have not installed a DPDT switch in the A pillar mount, yet.

It really is up to you where you want to mount the sending unit. If you check through the threads you will see several different ways to do it. This will be the deciding factor in how long the hoses will need to be.

You are installing an important piece , though.

Gauge

Which Autometer gauge are you guys using? I am currently using the Phantom series for my pyro and boost, but it seem that the Phantom fuel pressure gauge was a little high. Are you using other series of Autometer gauges?

Chuck,

Did that price include a sender unit? When I looked up the Phantom series of Autometer, it was around $180. 00:--)

Jim

Thanks, Chuck!

I am currently browsing the Summit site, but have not found the nordskog gauge, only the sending unit... Oh well, I will keep looking.

BTW, did you use the grease gun hose method?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim look under digital gauges. I,m haveing a hose made up as I could not find a grease hose with the right fittings at Napa.
