I am adding additional 2 micron fuel and water sep filters to my 09 and I want to add a fuel guage to monitor any changes. is there a place to tap into

OEM filter housing with a fuel line or any suggestions on how to do it.

thanks Dave:

I am not sure if the fuel canister on my 09 has that same setup on the bottom as it is pretty congested in that area. I guess I will have to pull the wheel and liner off and get a better look at it. Man there was sure a lot more room to work on my old 02 than there is on this new one.

Glacier Diesel Power - Product Detail

I am also getting ready to ship Richard the cardboard template for the mount I have under my cab for the f/w sep.

I have the glacier dual system and have the filter mount made, I am trying to figure out a way to hook up a pressure guage.

Hold the phone -

I did some more looking on this. It appears that the banjo bolt on the CP3 is on the RETURN line. The supply line from the filter to the CP3 is connected with some kind of "quick connect" fittings. I did find a post where one guy removed the quick connect hose on both ends and substituted a 5/16" fuel line with hose clamps. I haven't taken mine apart so I'm not sure how well that works. There are also "big line" kits available which remove the quick connect fittings and install something else, so there may be a standard adapter available but I don't know what it is.

It appears that people are using the banjo bolt to put the fuel pressure gauge on the supply line going into the fuel filter. This tells you if the pump is working but doesn't tell you if the filter is clogged.

OK - so the flare end is a -6 AN fitting. Does anybody know what the other end is (with the o-ring)? Is that a standard fitting that can be purchased by mortals, or is it something that requires special machining? I'm trying to avoid spending $20 for an adapter that goes to something that requires a $10 connector just to get to a place where I can put in a $3 tee.

#6MJIC x 12 x 1-5 ORB,,,, these ones are high flow. I bought a couple of these at a local place but they werent high flow and the openings were very small. I ended up not using them because of the smaller opening they had. IMO I would spend the $$ on these high flow ones. JMHO

thanks guys for all the good information but I still do not know how I am going to hook up my fuel pressure guage. I am suspecting I will have to get a T fitting to put in the fuel line and then figure a way to connect to the sending unit.

yes, you can install a TEE in the line between the filter housing and the CP3 . This way will help you watch for pressure drops and let you know that your filter is getting dirty.

Received good information from Glacier Diesel and have ordered their "Big Line Kit" that includes a "T" to run to the sending unit for guage. Also replaces small line from OE filter housing to CP3 with larger line and new fittings. Hopefully this solves all my questions. Thanks for all the input and maybe help others that attempt a guage install.
