wondering what your all's opinion of fuel pressures gauges. Mech, or Elec. ??? I have autometer ultra-lite's now... boost and pyro... . just ordered the triple piller mount ... but now need to get he fuel guage. so... 105-4361 or 105-4313???
I have liked the mechanical types for their "reliability" without electricity sources to make them work.
I have enjoyed the electrical types because they are just as accurate and a whole lot easier to install.
Mechanical:
. Pro- no wires, always work, usually always accurate unless over stressed
. Con- tubes can wear thru if rubbed, connections can leak at the guage making an awful mess in the cab
Electrical:
. Pro- Easier to install. Never no mess oil/diesel in the cab.
. Con- Sometimes the sensor goes bad, or the wire gets a short or breaks. Proper install technique should preclude the wiring issues.
That's my take on it.
Preference: Electrical, just bought 'em but not installed yet. Waiting on a back order of the fuel pressure guage from Geno's... Too many TDR guys using that outfit, can't get all of my order in
