OK, I have been pulling my new trailer for just over 500 miles. It is about 6,000 lbs. I have a comp and 275. I had been running the comp on level 3-3 the whole way. ( I still have the stock clutch. ) On the trip, I never ran out of pedal. I always had to back out of the throttle before my EGT's got too high. Towards the end of the trip, on a couple of occasions, my EGT's would max out at about 1200 and I would start to slow down. I don't remember what my boost was, put probably in the 25-28 range. To me, this means I wasn't getting enough fuel or at least as much as I once was. I put the comp to level 5-5 and the truck would pull again and I would have to watch the EGT's. The Temp. that day was about 105-110. Did I loose my priming pump, or did I just max out the comp on level 3? If I just maxed it out, why before would I always have pedal left when I had to back out because of high EGT's? I was traveling on I-15 in southern Utah between Salt Lake and Las Vegas Nevada. ( Yes, there are some big hills!)

I am looking into installing a fuel pressure guage and have ordered the banjo fittings from Geno's. I also got the one with the fitting for a guage. What guage would you guys recomend and how do I go about putting it in? I now have a SPA EGT and Boost combo guage and still have another pod for another guage. I have never done anything like this, so all the help you could give would be appreciated.

THEORETICALLY - *I* wouldn't think merely setting the Comp higher would in any way overcome the LP's ability to supply fuel - it either WILL or it won't...

Doesn't the Comp also provide a de-fueling function as part of it's setup? If so, that may be what happened - a combination of temp, etc. , might have caused it to max out - until you manually increased its power level...

it sounds liek you were in the 2700RPM range, this is where the comp defuels on all 5 levels. If that is the rev range you were in,its normal. If you were at 2500 or below,id be concerned. either way,id check the FP,since your running the comp, you need to have a strong lift pump.

If you already have SPA gauges, you might want to match it to them, but I've had my Westach gauge, from Geno's, installed for about a year and it works great. Installation instructions are good too. ;)
