Westach thru Genos Garage

Genos carries Westach fuel pressure gauges, pretty much the standard choice around the TDR.

I have the Westach fuel pressure gauge, it works and I like it but after seeing the Dakota Digital fuel pressure gauge I wish I had gotten one of those. Or maybe even a S P A digital gauge but they are kinda expensive.

Dakota Digital

i have a dakota digital square FP gauage ( they make round and square) mounted in the cubby hole. Not a single problem in 2 years, it was easy to install and the directions were good. They get my vote, if you want a digital gauage. It also reads to the tenth of a PSI and there is never the doubt of where the needle is pointing.

Hope this helps,

Geno's Garage has the Pricol 0-30 PSI kit which includes the fuel pressure isolator for the engine bay, the capillary tube into the cab and a very slick looking mechanical gage for about $130. 00. I really agonized over which gage to get also, so take it from me. . this is a super set-up for what you want. You will need to get a 1/4 NPT "jumper" hose to go from the top of your filter canister to the sender. Autometer makes pre-made braided stainless line kits in 2, 3 & 4 ft. lengths that work great. I went with 3 feet from filter to sender and bolted sender to area just ahead of driver side hood hinge. It looks like a clean installation and it works perfectly! Send me any specific questions and I'll be happy to help.

Oops!, I just noticed you have an '01 so you Might have the schrader valve thing for your lift pump pressure to the injector pump in which case it would be a little bit differerent, but still an easy install.

For anyone who does not like the idea of a fuel hose in the cab here's the alternative. Low fuel Pressure Light Kit, Dodge/Cummins, ISB 24 Valve, Part number VP44LK, comes either red or amber, 1 hour install time, works! Call 1-616-531-1030. Dave, Diesel Injection Service, Inc. , dieselgr.com. Less than $100 to your door. Tom

You can get a low pressure sensor at a marine hardware store for about $12. I have a big red light that will turn on if lube oil pressure is low or fuel pressure is low.

Well there ya go! Buy a big red bulb at the hardware and a low pressure switch at the marina and never worry again about fluid leaking from fittings or guages that you just know aren't ever going to break or loosen up. Cudos to those who develped the kit, they know how to make money! Tom
