I prefer electric, but you have to protect the sender from vibrations and CP3 pulses. A flexible grease gun hose will keep it safe from vibrations by mounting it away from the engine, and a snubber will keep pulses from taking out the sender.
You can get a tapped banjo bolt from Geno's Garage and install it on the bottom of the filter canister, then install a snubber, followed by the grease gun hose, and finally the sender. I also used a Tee before the sender as a way to bleed air from the line.
