The guy that works on my truck (btw, he does specialize in diesels) told me today about a fuel pressure monitor that is just an LED that comes on when the fuel pressure drops below 4lbs. Has anyone heard of this, or had any experience ?

Thanks in advance,

mbuck

I have the BD low pressure led in my truck. It was much less expensive than a fuel pressure guage. Very simple install too. The LED comes on when fuel pressure is less than 5 psi. My lcoal diesel performance shop thinks it is a good idea for trucks running close to stock power like ours. If you plan on going further with the power spend the money and get a guage.

use it with whatever pump you want

it replaces the banjo bolt right at the VP with one thats extended and tapped 1/8"NPT & the rest of the kit ties in from there... .

its a cheap alternative to a gauge, better than nothing at all

Years ago I told everyone about using a chevy Oil pressure sender for a Dummy light, wired up to a light. (Oil sender grounds out wire during low pressure). Now I see everybody is selling them :( . I even saw them on Ebay the other day.

I had one on my truck. It never came on but the check engine light did. Dodge ended up replacing the lift and VP-44 pumps. I now have the Vulcan system and a pressure gage.
