NOW Im ticked I almost had my last post done and the darned computer dumped me! My truck`s fuel filter developed a crack and hense a leak. The filter was a fairly new wix. I figured it was a fluke, so I installed a new filter (also a wix). Now I noticed that when my truck is running the filter flexes with every surge of fuel, is this normal or do I have an over pressure problem? My truck is a 95 3500

You need a fuel pressure gauge to find out. We can tell without some sort of pressure info. If you have a blockage somewhere (bad overflow valve, plugged fuel return line?) the lift pump will generate a LOT of pressure. The only way to tell for sure is a pressure gauge.

Thanks for the response, I am in the middle of blueberry season so I don't have much time to mess with the truck. Can you tell me if I am going to wreck anything besides filters by driving my truck as is?

I do intend to check the fuel pressure, what is considered normal?

If I decide I am running to much pressure where do I find the overflow valve?

Thanks for the help, I may not be able to check out the responses for a day or two because of the blueberrys.

I Got a chance to mess with the truck a bit today. The info was a huge help.

I took the overflow valve out and even though it didn't look dirty I cleaned it out. WOW it appears to have fixed the problem. No more fuel filter flexing. It also appears to idle a lot lower. Definitely an improvement thanks for all the help guys.
