I have a Westach 15psi guage installed on my 2002 . Normal readings after installation were 14-15psi at idle and around 12-13 psi cruising 70-75 mph. When accellerating it would never go below 10-11psi. The truck has about 11,000 miles on it . I just had my brother do a fuel filter change a couple weeks ago, and we drove 100 or so miles after just running around , etc , and everything was still normal. Was low on fuel , stopped , and added 8 oz. of Stanadyne and fueled up as usual. Upon startup I noticed a slight hesitation in idling , then it cleared up . Out on the highway now I'm only running at 10 psi and idle at 14psi . When accellerating it pulls down to 8 psi.

This never happened until I fueled up ... ... ... ... bad fuel?? We checked the fuel in a clean glass jar afterwards and it looked fine. Could just a one time start up of bad fuel restrict the filter enough to cause this change in psi at cruise or when accellerating. Curious to know if another filter change remedies the problem as this never happened until after fueling even though the fuel looked clean !!! :( Thanks for the help and looking forward to any input .

Is this reading pre or post filter?. Check guage ground and connections on back and at sending unit. The other alternative is check with mechanical guage. It could also be the lift pump. Mine started out at 15 at idle and now a year later is 13. On a good long hill I see a low of 8. The fass system is probably in my future.
