Here are some vids where my fuel pressure is... .

FUEL PRESSURE 4 13 10 pictures by j_k_auto - Photobucket

I shimmed the ovf and it is still low.

I drove around and it seems to low from what I have read.

I am still thinking on getting a adj reg because this ofv just sucks. I tried to adjust it and it went up from eight to where it is at now at idle.

If I get a adj reg can I run it from 30psi and up or does it have to be at 22 psi?

Will it hurt the pump?

Also from what I read is that the aftermarket pumps run steady at 40-50 psi trough the p pump and remove the ofv. The aftermarket pumps controls the pressure so this should mean the p pump is ok at 30-40 psi at idle using the stock lift pump?

Maybe I am wrong... . thanks

Replace your OFV. It is there to keep the fuel pump full of pressurized fuel, not control the fuel pressure.

Joe... .

You are wrong... .

I have a 200gph FASS that runs at 50psi and the OFV is still in place and NOT removed.

The flow restricted with any type of aftermarket regulator at all and it maintains that pressure at all times now.

You will see no gain in performance from 22psi to 30psi at all.

As already stated, change it and see where your at afterwards.

I understand that but it does sorta control the pressure. If you take it out there will be no pressure. It does the same this on a injector fuel rail. Before the return they have the reg. If it goes bad you have no pressure... .

This is why I want a adjustable one so I never have to deal with this again. I replaced this 3 yrs ago and now low pressure again. Old stuff is nice but not alway the best... that impo... .

Also I wonder how long it has been going out???... . I hate thinking that...

IMO you need a 0-50 psi gauge.

You'd also benefit from a buffer in that setup.

Mine idles anywhere from 20 (long hard tows especially when it's hot out & if the fuel tank is low) to 30 during the cold weather.

What would a highway-cruising reading of 20-22psi on a bone stock motor indicate?

That seems a little low to me, but I'm no expert.

JoeG would know the answer.

IIRC it's tested at a no load 2000RPM condition, but I dont remember the PSI that's considered minimum at that state.
