Over the past few months my fuel pressure has been slowly dropping. Its not going to the danger level yet… the most I can get it down to is 12 – 13 psi at WOT and then it goes back up ti 15. 5 – 16 psi at idle which is great. . But the reason for my worry is that when I first installed the FASS II it did not have the updated spring and it would go down around 10 & idle at 12. So I got the updated spring and then I was getting around 16. 5 – 17 at idle & would not go below 15 no matter how hard I pushed it. So I called where I got the FASS II from and he said the first thing is change the fuel filter (which I just did over the weekend & saw no improvement) the next thing he said is being that my truck has 130k miles on it that its quite possible that the screen in the tank is getting clogged and is causing a restriction when the engine requires more fuel.

Does this sound like what could be causing the restriction & lower FP? And if it does what are my options? Is there a replacement screen? And finally which is easier? To drop the tank or lift off the bed? I have access to a lift so it should make things go a lot easier…

also wanted to add that my FP gauge is hooked up post filter before the fuel gets to the VP 44... I have a gauge that hooks up directly to the vp44 test port, so i'm going to test that tonight to make sure my gauge isn't going...
