Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel pressure test?

I've done a search befor asking and read the tsb pertaining to testing the lift pump. My question is can I check the volume at the shrader valve? I know it isn't hard to disconect the rubber line but it's now dark and I want to figure out if I'm calling the dealer tommarow. I just installed gauges and didn't have any fuel pressure, that's why I'm asking.

Dealer test is with the line removed from the vp44.
