does anyone know about the fuel pressure releaf valve on the fuel rail. and if it could be why my truck is surging at like 1800 to 1870 rpms.

yes it could be the cause of your problem=====pressure---no pressure, all the way down the road, it happened to me, that was the problem. good luck

Does anybody know what the cummins part number is for the pressure relief valve and is it pretty easy to change it yourself ? Thanks

i dont have the # for a stock one off hand but i can get it they are not cheap, though i do have a rail cap that eliminates the stocker its much better and cost less. pm me for cost :-laf

i just want to be able to make a honest 425 - 450 hp to the ground , i don t know if i crawl under my truck an see if there is a way to turn the adjustment up for my fass 150 pump ? so running a rail cap with a tst box alone won t ruin the injectors or anything like that ?

could you send me a link or explain what the rail cap does and will it hurt anything running it all the time ? any other small cheap mods i can do besides the tst box ans fass 150 pump i have ? i was ****** at the dyno yesturday when it only made 366 and it sounded and acted the the rail was dry ?

it really would be easy for me and you to talk over the phone, i would be glad to answer all you questions

ROBERTMCDONALD - First off, could you fill in your sig so we can see what your truck is and what you've done to it? Second, relax. 366 is a pretty good number for a stock truck with any kind of box. To put it in perspective, you are way overworking your stock turbo. When it grenades, it's going to take out your engine. You are also at the limits of your stock transmission, or clutch. Even if the engine was putting down 500HP, you can't get it to the ground. My transmission was slipping at 375, before I upgraded it. There is a LOT of research that needs to be done to these things to build HP, and be able to use it. Third, and this is just my opinion, your truck isn't ready for a rail cap, yet. You have a lot more work to do, first, and your money would be better spent on a turbo, or transmission upgrade. And fourth, level 3, maybe 4, on the TST box, is about all the fuel you can effectively use until you've made some more upgrades.

while you are correct, there have been plenty of people with the same set-up or even a edge juice that are putting down 400+ at the rear wheels, so it seems to be a bit low

Yes, under 400 is low for a tst truck, buuuutt a lot of guys make the mistake of getting the truck on the dyno and taking the tst straight to level 9-9 which drains the rail fast.

Robert, what level did you dyno that number on? Did you try different settings? Have you ever ran a pressure box on your truck? If the tst is all you have ran, walk away from a rail cap. Rail relief valves blow from excessive pressure. Which I am sure you know, but others tried to argue. Sso I will say it again, the TST does not do pressure.
