Hi I have a 95 12 valve and I have a mechanical fuel pressure gauge with an isolator and a pressure snubber that is plumbed directly into the banjo bolt that feeds the injection pump fuel. NOW the maximum pressure I ever see is 20 psi at cruse is that what it is suppost to be??? The truck runs perfect and never skips a beat but I read the latest TDR issue and they said it should be like 40 something psi. Someone please clear this up for me.

According to my factory manual your fuel pressure should be 17-22psi at idle and 25-30 psi at 2500 rpm with no load. So if your truck runs fine I would think you have no issues... but of course I am no expert, although I did recently spend quite a bit of time troubleshooting what I thought was a fuel pressure problem.

20 PSI running down the road is low. It should be close to 30 PSI. Idle should be at least 18 PSI. 25 PSI at speed is ok, but a little lower than I like. I replaced the overflow valve recently because it failed. My cruise is at least 40 PSI now. You can check your overflow valve pretty easy. The spring should be a little bit over a half inch, . 550". If it is shorter you can stretch it a little bit. Be careful if you do that, because too much will wreck the spring. If stretching it increases your pressure then you need a new overflow valve.
