There is some argument here, but for the most part you shouldn't let it drop below about 10. The vp-44 is supposed to have about 14-15 psi. I know some guys run as high as 20 or more, but that can harm it too. Its best to keep it in the 13-17 range if you can.

I've read several authoritative sources (mostly VP44 rebuilders) say 5psi is the absolute lowest pressure you want to expose the VP44 to. Below that pressure, the seals around internal accumulator diaphragm can be ruptured, not to mention fuel flow is used to cool and lubricate the VP44. Also I've read that the VP44 is calibrated and tested at a 13. 5 psi supply pressure, so it could be argued this would be the perfect supply pressure under all conditions.

12-14psi is STOCK with a good lift pump. Do not run in with less than 6psi WOT.

We have put over 45psi to the inlet side of a VP44 (12v mechanical lift pump) with no issues.

if you are modded much you won't be in the 12-14 range.
with a comp on lvl5 I would see as low as 4psi.
Installed a pump relocation kit with big lines and fittings with 110hp injectors and lvl 5 I don't drop below 7. I think it stayed around 9 with just the comp and stock injectors. not bad for $110

as you can see from my sig i am pushing LOTS of fuel. I have the Glacier 392 system and i dont drop below 13psi at WOT
