This is a wierd one. While on a trip towing a trailer my fuel pressure

warning light came on just for a second. No problem kept on going.

Next morning turned key on and fuel pressure light stayed on for about

eight seconds. Lifted hood and checked the pressure guage, after I recycled

key and no pressure, then slowly came up to 10lbs. Truck ran another

700 miles, but after each stop same thing, light stayed on for about eight

seconds. Two days of this and it stopped doing the slow pressure thing.

Turn the key on and light goes out quick, like it did before. Fuel pump is in the tank now. Any ideas?? Put another 2,000 miles on it and it works just

fine. 2003 with auto. I was in warm states when this happened. Above

50 degrees. Had a new filter in at the time. Still working good.

It's a long shot, but check to see whether the tank might be holding a vacuum. Could be a blocked vent.

Obviously a pressure gauge would probably give you better/more info on what exactly is happening. If your pump was truly not putting out any fuel, your truck would die and since you didn't mention poor performance I would assume it was running fine. So your lift pump must be putting something out with regards to fuel pressure or it's dying a slow death with intermittent operation I would also consider looking at your wiring for your light. The problem with something like this is that you need it to really break in order to fix it but until then it will be in the back of your mind that it may reoccur and that drives me nutz.
