Fuel Prestrainer/Fuel Heater

Does anyone know the part numbers (either Cummins or Dodge) for the O-Ring/Gaskets for the Prestrainer bottom bowl?? I have been to both the Dodge dealer parts department and the local Cummins dealer's part department with no luck #ad
. Would like to clean/check the strainer, but not without a replacement O-ring/Gasket.

The O-ring is a good one. A little care and you can use it many times. I've checked mine many times and still have the original. So far, so good. Mine has always been squeaky clean.

The O ring is only avaliable in the "rebuild Kit" for the strainer. Not available seperately.

There was in issue of the TDR where a member matched up the o-ring with one commonly found at Home Dummies ect.

I can`t find the darn issue.

I decided to check my fuel precleaner today while changing out the fuel filter. Reading other posts on the subject, often as not the strainer/gasket was fine. So, I chose not to pick up the kit. Not a the best choice! The o-ring, while salvagable was starting to dry on the edge. There was alot of crud in trapped in the strainer! It cleaned up okay though. I buy my fuel from either of two places but no telling what the prior owner may have done.

I believe it's suggested that you do this when you're doing the filter. This way you won't take a diesel bath #ad
