I was traveling down the road today just a few miles from home when truck started missing and shaking. I looked at fuel presure gauge and it was at 0 psi. It was 13 degrees outside when this happened. Did I gel or freeze up or did the lift pump die? I had 8-9 psi shortly before this happened. It also stored 2 codes P 0500 and P 1693. Can anyone give me some tips to try? I limped it the next 2-3 miles to get it home. I didn't think it would make it.

0500= No vehicle speed sensor signal

1693 is just a companion code...

what happened? hmmm...

did you check to see if the lift pump is working after you got home?

If I bump starter lift pump presure goes to 15 psi. I have never seen it that high. Then I start it up and it goes to 0 psi. I ordered a new filter today from genos. I am going to open it up as soon as the filter arives. I normaly have a spare filter but I just replaced the filter a few weeks ago and haven't ordered it until now.

looking through service manual right now - i am quite sure you should not see above 7 psi with lp running without truck running---------i put a lp in 3 days ago--pressure keeps dropping to 0 and i get an engine tone change-i also have a 0216 code-i wish the vp44 would die and get it over with!!!!!!!

Just got home from work and bumped starter and now lift pump presure is around 9 psi. Sarted truck and presure seems to be staying around 8-9 psi at 1200 RPM. Now I am going to have to make an appiontment to get codes reset. I am also going to get them to check lift pump. I hope they know how. They never was able to get the fast idle feature to work. They tried 4 times so I just gave up and went back to the cut off ruler.
