I have been reading about some peoples fuel presure at the fuel pump reading between 7 and 10 psi so I checked mine and it was about 17 psi, my engine is stock 2000 2500 . Is that to high or is it normal? I checked it at the fuel pump.
The vp 44 pump doesn't like anything under 5 lbs psi. I installed a fass 95 gal per min pump and the instructions stated it was pre-adjusted; with that it runs 12 lbs psi at idle and 9 pulling a trailer at 65. I am with you I have seen pressures at all over the board and have wondered what is to much or should mine be increased. I think the big factor is never let the psi's get close to 5.
I have a fass 150/150 and it pushed 16psi normal and pedal to the floor its still 13psi. You just dont want to see anything over 20 or 21psi from what i understand it will start to damage the pump.
thanks alot for the info guys, I failed to mention that I do have a fass pump on the side frame. It does about 17 psi at an idol. I guess I need to install a guage inside the truck.
