I am heading to Eugene, Oregon next week via hwy 5 any one have any tips as to where I can find the best fuel prices. Last time I filled up around here diesel was from 2. 56 to 2. 75 around here, and was appearing to be heading up. Will I find diesel cheaper in Oregon or Calif ?

Thanks, Bill

Try the USA station in Duninagain, 1st exit north of where the 505 joins 5.

In oregon watch out for the advertised price, for diesel they usually don't include the tax. Last night the Union 76 at exit #76 was $2. 57 tax included.

Take the price on thi billbord in OR at truck stops and such and add 24 cents, as they advertise the PUC or commercial truckers price. Commercial truckers don't pay road tax based on the gallon, but based on the amount of millage they drive anually. So, the advertised prices don't reflect the taxes. I usually fill up just north or Roseburg, OR.

Loves in Roseburg exit 119 was $253. 9 tax incl.

All the stations I deliver to up & down I-5 run $262. 9 These are Chevron stations.

Glad I get a break at our bulk plant. Last I payed was $ 235. 9 perks of haulin the stuff. :D

$2. 55 here in Creswell Or. at the 76 station. He's always competitive compared to anyone in Eugene. Creswell's about 10 miles south of Eugene at exit 182. Coming from the south, go west to the first and only light and he's right there on the right.

I do the drive EVERY month. The best deal on Diesel is the 1st exit in Corning (headed north). New Flying J and a T/A across the street. Then the next reasonable spot is the South Weed Exit. After that, Don't even think of wasting time in Ashland or Medford. Way too high. Head to the first Grants Pass Exit #55. You will pass a Fred Meyer on the left, which if you have the freddy card, you will save 3 cents off the posted price. Otherwise, continue another block and buy at Albertsons. If it is a Thursday, there is a 5 cent coupon in the "Nickel" but you have to ask for it. Im not sure of the Eugene prices, but I know the farther north you go, the cheaper it gets. Oh year, I alomst forgot. Theye is an Indian Casino north of Grants Pass and they usually are priced right.

If you are looking for Shell or 76 in Grants Pass, it will be about 7 cents higher than Freds or Albertsons and you can take the 2nd exit, I think it is #57 exit.

Enjoy the ride. The country is BEAUTIFUL! Just be careful once you hit the Oregon line. EVERY COP HAS RADAR AND THEY WILL GET YOU. ;)

I almost forgot. If you are in need of an oil change and you have a good idea when you will be in Grants Pass, make an appointment at Lithia Dodge. It is now $45 for the lube oil filter change w/Delo. It just went up $5 but still well worth it not to get your hands dirty. :D
