anybody ever put a clear line between the lift pump and fuel heater to check for air. I've been fighting with this air problem for at least a month and am down to the last piece off the puzzle everything else is new except for the fuel module it keeps getting better but it still sucks air once you give it some fuel, but will not at idle any more

You're on the right track. A leak in the suction side of the intake will cause problems while the engine is running, leaks on the return side cause starting problems, leaks on the pressure side of the intake make a mess.

Does the problem occur when the fuel tank is full? If it doesn't the coiled pickup hose in the tank module could have a hole in it. Somewhat common problem since there are self tapping screws in the module that can rub on the hose.

You can also pressurize the tank with compressed air though the fill tube and listen for leaks. NO MORE THAN 10 PSI!, you can blow up your tank or the fuel heater. One member drilled and tapped his fuel cap for a tire valve to pressurize it then let it sit for awhile. Came back and found where fuel had leaked. Might be easier than the clear tube idea.
