My truck died Sunday. After priming the filter I was able to get it started again. I was able to pull the following codes P0088 fuel rail pressure signal above maximum limit, P0148 high-pressure common rail (HPCR) check sum and P0483 fan speed. This is the second time in 2 weeks this has occurred. The first time i changed the filter (400 miles ago). Only had the fan speed trouble code the first time. Is this the lift pump? The truck only has 44K on it, 04 3500 5. 9 4x4 with automatic.

It could be so many things. Clear all trouble codes first. You may have popped your relief valve, FCA problem, you may have air getting into the fuel somewhere through a fp gauge or a connection somewhere, lift pump, leaky injectors or a leaking high pressure line.

Clear all codes, turn key on to actuate the lift pump and inspect the fuel system for any visual leaks. I think i would start there. Next i would check the releif valve. Good Luck

I have cleared all the codes. I did turn on the key to actuate the lift pump and inspected the fuel system could not find any leaks. i have not checked the relief valve yet. i will do that tonight. Since clearing the codes I have driven it another 100 miles with no problems. Thanks for your ideas.
