Stock Exhaust Manifold anyone??

Stuck brake again!

I am a firefighter for montgomery county, md. I work at the main rockville station where the maintenance shop is. We run Freightliner chassis ambulances and medic units with cummins motors. We have been having problems with ruining the fuel pumps on these units, most of which occur under 100,000 miles. The fuel pumps are the 1998-2002 pumps, if I understand him right. The mechanic asked if I had ever heard of Diesel Performance Products. Supposedly, they make one of the best fuel pumps around and he is considering buying them for our units.

Can anyone tell me anything about these fuel pumps?

Which pump is failing, the injector pump, or lift pump? The electronic lift pumps are marginal at best, and low pressure/ output can roast a VP44 in no time, esp if it is run hard, as I would assume ambulances are.

FASS pump quality?

The lift pump is going out and burning up the injector pump. The question still remains how good are the Fass pumps from diesel performance products? Any help would be appreciated.

The FASS pump is a quality product that should hold up but they have not been on the market for any long term tests. I am running the FASS system and can say that it pumps 4 times the fuel that the stock lift pump did. Thats good for lubing and cooling the injector pump so if the pump lasts awhile its a heck of a good deal. :D
