fuel pump question

with 80,000 miles on my 2003 2500, i'm getting nervous about the pull versus push methods of fuel delivery. seems like every time i switch out fuel filters it gets a little harder to start the truck. so i guess my question is FASS verses say the BD brand of pump. or others?? any opinions? i will have to do the install myself and am on a fairly limited budget. also, with this many miles on the truck, are there any other issues looming? any help is really appreciated.
