Iv'e been reading the fuel pump problems you over-valved guys have been haveing for a while, and just have to ask a stupid question!

Why can't you use the same in tank pump as the 12 valve.

The 12v has a lift pump on the engine that is mechanically ran by a lobe on the camshaft. Our lift pumps are completely electrical on the engine.

Yes there is a pump in the tank on my 97. I wasn't sure there was a pump in the tank of the 24 valves. So i guess that's why it was a stupid question!

If there is a pump in the tank of your truck, someone else installed it because Dodge's (12v or 24v) don't come with in-tank pumps from the factory.

That's funny-I had it out about two weeks ago and it looked like there was one. Plus my manual says there is one, and i didn't put it there!

You are mistaken Stick

I had a 97 12v and had the pleasure of installing a sending unit in it. All that is in the tank is a sending unit module which is cylindrical assy. that has a sending unit attatched. No pump there. Merv
