Fuel Pump Timing

My fuel pump is timed at about 1. 6mm. If I wanted to retard it withiout using a dial indicator, which direction do I turn it? How far would I have to turn it to get it to about 1. 4mm?

I don't think anyone is going to recommend you attempt the pump timing change without a dial indicator. You wont be able to tell what the setting is without it and guessing would be a bad idea. BUT,Having said that,standing in front of the truck looking at the pump you would "turn" it clockwise to retard the timing.
