Fuel Return Line Leaking

I think the fuel return line is leaking on my Dad's '03. The front of his fuel tank is covered with diesel. I think gravel has wore through the line. I am going to drop the tank and put in some rubber line. Has anyone else had this trouble? We live in a rural area so we don't see much pavement so hence the problem.
