well, i ordered the ones from larry b rather than drive down to west marine. i was feeling lazy. besides, i need to save all of my energy for the big change out.....

a couple of questions:

are larry b's hose clamps all stainless or just the band part? there are 2 different types of ss clamps. the ALL stainless and the ones at home depot and the low grade ones from west marine. the cheap ones' screws are not ss. and the screws rot out. the all ss ones however do not have a 5/16" screw. it is like, 8-10mm.

i found what appears to be the top part of the return(?) hose behind the fuel filter.

where is the other end? and if this is the return, where is the supply in relation to this?

thanks for any comments... ...

Scott, the fuel return lines is 5/16 I. D. and the supply fuel line is 3/8 I. D. .

The return line starts in front of the fuel filter, goes to the rear behind the filter and then drops down to the the top left side of the transmission. The supply line starts at the back of the cyl head and also drops down to the top left side of the transmission.

The return line has a clamp with a 7 mm head screw and at the transmission it is a 6 mm. The supply line is usually fine but I made it a practice to replace both. Top clamp is a 6 mm but the lower one is a crimp on clamp (OEM). Take some small wire cutters to the crimp and twist the clamp.

For fuel hose use flame resistance type, the best type I found so far. Remove your fuel filter to make things easier at the top. You can also remove the starer to access the hoses at the side of the transmission. Give your self some time and be patient, it can be frustrating getting to those lower clamps. Good Luck.
