Hey guys, I had the old hard starting symtoms two weeks ago and I did the fule line hose replacement. But today I got stuck at the local Shell station unable to get the old locomotive started. I did the prime and pump routine, but still no luck, then I did the manual lift of the fuel shut off solenoid and she started right up ( thank the good lord for that because a family in a power stroke just pulled up next to me at that moment, you can't imagine how religious you suddenly get when you hear a Ford pulling up to your disabled Dodge, boy did I repent ). Anyway back to the subject, exactly what do I do to remove the fuel shut off solenoid, tools? procedure? I'm still learning this mechanical stuff so all the detailed info will be most appreciated. I'm going to try and clean it up a bit then check it for proper operation and see where we go from there. Also where is the relay for this solenoid located? Thanks a million for the help... .

 Kalaehina, Wait a minute, don't pull it off. It may be as simple as a relay or broken wire. I had the same problem and the guys on here saved me a lot of time and money, ended up being a broken wire. :D

Go to the 12 valve section and there are a lot of postings dealing with the fuel solenoid.
