Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel shutdown adjustment

How does a person know if your fuel shutoff is adjusted correctly? If it is not lifting up as far as it should, would that keep the gov lever from coming up as high as it is suppose to hit the camplate?

The rod should go all the way to bottom of solenoid housing.

When engine is running use your hand to see if it will go up any farther.
