Fuel starved.
ive dropped and cleaned the tank, installed a new strainer assembly in the tank, blown high pressure air through the disconnected fuel lines, cleaned and replaced the fuel filter.
The truck still runs like it's fuel starved when under load. Since I found grit and sand in the fuel separator bowl does it stand to reason that the fuel lift pump next to the separator is fouled causing my problems?
I had to drop the tank, dump fuel and clean the strainer.. in the process I found my strainer clogged all to hell with black gunk on the top, bottom and in between the screens and of course it has a tear in it.
naturally Chrysler only sells the entire unit at $585 rather than only the strainer cap assembly.
Is there anyplace that sells just the strainer or am I having to bit a bullet?
What are reliable and affordable options for full in tank replacement units that won't kick the bucket on me?
