Ok, I put the third retaining nut on the pump for Mom's pickup earlier this week- the one that is under the intake behind the pump- and had to remove the fuel supply line. In the process of tightening it up, I boogered up the threads so it is darn near round. Only now it has started to leak fuel. Not much, but enough to make a mess all over everything that recently got its only bath for the year (Mom never cleans anything under the hood). Does anyone know of or have a fuel supply line I can bum, buy, steal, or borrow? I am also posting an ad in the classifieds.

I bet you were turning the nut on the fuel line and in the process you didn't notice it was actually twisting the metal line itself... right... :D

Did that, fixed that... .

I will try to get the part number for that from my shop on Tuesday.

I got mine at a Cummins dealer.

If you go there to try and find it yourself... be careful cause the "book" says it's part XYZ and the right number is ABC sort of thing... . actually it was Piers who knew about this part and the number mistake commonly made.

No, Pastor, I actually learned from CB Parker's mistake:-laf, though that has happened in the past. The nut is just too rounded off to get any kind of a grip on it with anything, plus I think there may be some rust or corosion on the sealing surfaces- it was a real bear to get loose- took lots of PB Blaster. The next tiem I take it off, I'm putting one back that has some sides to the hex.

THanks. If I had a faster than 16. 8K dialup (I live in the dang sticks and tey cant have fast interent out here- my nearest neighbor is literally a mile and a half away. Just to bad it aint 900mi west and a mile higher) I'd do the search.

Hey Daniel,

My Mom just got back from the CO Springs. She attended the Air Force graduation ceremony. That week, and the week following, it was so cold they had to wear galoshes and stocking caps... . in June:eek:

Too cold for me. I'll take the mid 70's:)

PS Oh, don't git carried away by the skeeters:p

Rub it in, Scott. :D But if you spray enough OFF on ya, they aint so bad, but you can still hear them. Cant wait..... I was out there the week of the grad ceremony, just right for June- 80/45.

There has been snow on Mother's Day and/or Memorial Day weekend the past two years out there on the plains. My cousin who used to live across I-25 from the Academy said one year her son had a baseball SNOWED out in June and ten again in Aug.

Mom had a sister-in-law sunbathing on the lee side of the house in Jan when she lived out there.
