The steel line that runs along the frame from the tank to the lift pump, what is the OD of that line??

I am mounting my new lift pump on the frame, can you slide rubber fuel line over the steel line and use a hose clamp or do you need something special?

Its very thin walled... yet super strong stainless I believe. I could almost not bend the stuff by hand. I dont know if its metric or standard but 3/8" ID rubber fuel hose... such as J30R7 or J30R9 (both compatible with diesel) will slide on perfectly if just a wee bit tight. Makes for a great seal. Crimp clamps or worm gear clamps are basically like a security feature cause the hose almost holds itself on there.

Here's a photo showing what Weatherhead 3/8" hose looks like attached to the factory tube. I used Oetiker stainless crimp clamps exactly like the ones used on the wastegate control hose.

You may want to do what I'm doing ---

My new FASS system will be in next week. This bypasses the lift pump and filter, and supplies an honest 12 lb all the time. This system is right off the big rigs and is being used in underground mines - it'll work for us. I ordered it with the new fuel line. Check page 101 of the new TDR Issue 41. Call Brad at 1-866-769-3747. And hey I don't work for them, or am not related... . just looks like this ends our problems... .
