Had a customer bring a '01 3500 5. 9 so. He told me a guy had worked on his trans(5-speed) and told him his lift pump was going out. He asked me to change it. I recommended the fass 95 upgrade lift pump and he sprung for it. I installed it and it worked great right off the bat. The next day he told me it wouldn't start after he had run it a while. Sure enough, I checked it out for a while and after it got good and warmed up it wouldn't start until it cooled a little or until you gave it a little shot of either. I figure the old lift pump already killed the inj. pump but when it runs, it runs pretty good. I noticed that when you turn the key and bump the starter sometimes the transfer pump would kick on and sometines it wouldn't. I switched relays under the hood in the fuel sys. spot in the fuse box to no avail. Does the supply side of the fuel sys have a pressure sensor that cuts the lift pump off? HELP!

Joseph

We've run into a few similar fass install probs. Try unplugging the fass to see if it starts hot with no pressure. Typically a tired vp44 won't start hot with new found pressure. If that's indeed the scenario, we've a couple different fixes. Call if you've other questions..... Rip
