2002 Truck,

Would like to get some additional under bed fuel capacity.

( truck camper )

Due to the issues With the VP44, really concerned about getting below 25 gallons (longbed). 375 mile range.

Question, If I installed a small tank ( 10-15 gallons ) and feed fuel to it

form the main tank ( Extra LP & filter ) to the smaller header tank,

Than used the header tank to supply the main LP.

The header tank would overflow to the extra vent on the main tank with

a pressure regulator. Maybe 5 psi positive pressure in the smaller

header tank,,,

I was thinking I could provide positive fuel pressure to LP, filter fuel

twice, maybe cool the fuel on the overflow to the main tank,,

Screwy idea,,,

I think it would be better to install Geno's big line kit along with a relocated LP with the internal bypass. This is what I have and post filter pressure never falls below 14psi with a new filter. There isn't much room to add a fuel tank and pressurizing a tank not specifically designed for it raises a lot of liability issues in case of problems.

if all you are going for is more fuel capacity, then they make a larger bolt in tank. it goes right where you original tank goes. i think you had to have the long bed to do it. . i think it was 50 gallons? do a search on fuel tanks. it was on a thread a while back. robert

I think transfer flow and aero both make bigger standard fuel tanks. Both advertise in the TDR.

Personally, I would not pressurize a fuel tank.

looked at the big tanks, would have to redo my camper mounts,
also very expensive, 14 gallons for 800 plus dollars seems not cost effective,
still have cooling and filtering problems,,,
If I did not pressurise the header tank, the
fuel flow would still improve. ?
If I restricted the outflow slightly, the tank would only see a small
pressure diff. , Not sure if that is a concern. .

I have a relocation kit, big lines and big banjo, only a 1-2 psi differance...
want to install perma cool prefilter/water seperator,

Fass also seems quite expensive...

Would you be thinking of using a bladder type tank of some sort?

Sounds fairly expensive and a bit too complex to me. Simple and reliable is the direction I would personally take.

Pressurizing a normal tank sounds like a pretty good way for a fuel tank rupture to occurr and at the worst possibly a fire.

I do like your spirit of inventiveness thought, keep going at it. :)
