First Look at My New Stacks

Ehaust Systems: BD, Bully Dog, Banks, Jannetty???

has anybody done away with the tiny . 25id pickup lines in the tank and upgraded to a larger line, and the same from the tank forward, using a p-pump? I know Jennetty makes a kit, but seems expensive at $350.

I know several people with P-pumps that have done this. I have done it on my 24v, I have a 3/8"(-8AN) pick-up, and 3/8" lines to the filter, then -6 from the filter to the VP, since I've installed it I haven't used it at the drag-strip, or sled-pulls yet, but I'm sure it will help with the bigger injectors I have for competition. Cost me $500 with the pump(PE4200), all SS braided lines and Aeroquip fittings, which I put together myself, $350 pre-made(I assume) still sounds a bit steep.

Looks like this... .

Rob, did you keep the screen filters in the float assembly? How did you attach the 8AN line to the plastic holder where the factory line was fastened? I was thinking of looseing the screens, putting a 10AN line into factory float assembly and using an inline filter between the tank and canister filter, also using 10AN line, and keeping the factory return line. Thanks alot. Jason

Jason,

To attach the -8 to the sender housing I used a standard -8 to -8 flare fitting, with an 0-ring on the inside of the housing. Then a -8 straight to hose fitting, from the flare to the bottom of the housing.

Yes I kept the screens, my pick-up is between the two screens, just like the factory pick-up.

BTW, All my factory crap is still in place, including the pusher (just plugged off, and no power to either pump) so if I ever have a problem with the current system, inside of 10 minutes I can have the entire factory fuel system operational, and back on the road.

http://www.haisleymachine.com/ has a set up to use as an Aux System that has everything, a new pickup with a screen on the end to a 125 PSI 100 Gal/Hr pump to a spin-on filter with a base then to a modified banjo bolt at the pump, it has all the lines fittings, relay, switch, connectors ect. It is list in the TDR mag issue No. 38 / PG 61.

Sounds like the ticket for drag runs or pulls to me.

Jim

P. S. give me a month or so and I'll R&D it personally for you!

I went inside the pickup with a 1/2" ID line. I removed all the screens and check-valve components. I just pick up straight off the bottom. I had all sorts of problems when I tried to integrate in with the stock fixtures so I finally gave up and totally removed them.

I was afraid I'd have aeration problems but so far that's not the case. No detectable loss in power or mileage with only 2-3 gallons of fuel left in the tank.
