I a just curious, is there a fuel pump in the fuel tank on the dodge diesel or does the injection pump pull it out of the tank. I have a 98' 12 valve and i here a clicking sound coming from the tank when the truck is running. I have also got a problem with my fuel gauge it will go from full to empty constantly and thought that it might have something to do with the sound. Thanks for any assistance.

If your fuel gauge is jumping around all over the place it is evidence your sending unit in the tank is probably bad. I'm soon going to be my 3rd one, although they can be repaired and re-installed. Much has been written here about this problem.

I'm getting to where I wish I had cut an inspection hole in the bottom of my bed so I could do quick sending-unit change outs!

And Daimler Chrysler STILL HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM!! (yes I'm yelling!)

You'd think after 10 friggin' years even the most stupid car companies would fix a known problem. How much would it cost to re-design that thing... a few thousand bucks at the most? Idiots!! Fools!! Money-grubbing, Malfeasant Morons!!

I hear you and agree.

Let's not forget the throttle cable!

Crappy paint jobs.

I've jsut refused to give them several hundred dollars for a part that may work 20,000 miles!

I'm thinking in the future I'm gonna put a flatbed on and get rid of the stock tank and go with semi saddle tanks, cheap two wire sending units that rarely go bad. dodges poor design to give them big bucks. same as all mfgs, when they went to the pump in the tank and screwed all consumers. Ian
