Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel tank sending unit

Does anyone know if there are any options other than the dodge dealer or a junk yard. I need a fuel tank sending unit for a 98 2500 with a 12v?Thanks

I think most auto parts stores can probably find one but it may be a generic sender that could take some extra work to get it set up right.

Are you looing for the fuel sending unit or the whole tank module?

Thanks for the info!!!!!That is an awesome post. Very clear pictures and instructions. My sending unit works as far as it sending a signal to the guage. The problem with it is one of the ports is broken off the top where one of the lines goes in. I did however find one relatively inexpensive at a salvage yard. So I think Im going to replace it this time but I will definitly keep this info on hand if I have any other challenges with it. Thanks again
