More parts needed for '93 D250 LE 2wd

I talked to Spectra's technical help yesterday and asked them why a part comes up for the later Generation 1 Diesels even though it doesn't fit and I got the technically correct and essentially useless answer "That is why we tell the consumer the part is for trucks with 6 inch frames."

 yeah, on the screen the clown younger than your truck sees when order over the phone from the local parts-r-us store!

I had to ask to ask and no, they don't manufacture straps for the 7" frames...

#@$%!

But all is not lost!

Due to the very concise description of Spectra p/n ST191 (fits 1992 Dodge 2500) given by an ebay seller I saw potential...

The "T" ends are nearly identical and fit the frame end attachment fittings. They come pre-bent in the wrong places but the mild steel is easy to form to the proper shape. One strap is half an inch too short-if you're really fussy a custom spacer could be manufactured from a bit of nylon block. I'm thinking something from the junk drawer like a couple of nuts.

The other strap is about three inches too long but no worries-if you have the right drill bit and a hack saw it is easy enough to bend to the right length, cut off and re-drill.

Hope that helps...
