After 400,000 miles which included countless off road miles, etc. the plastic suction and return fittings on top of the stock fuel tank said 'bye-bye' - which relates to no fuel to the engine! Temporary repair with 5/16" brass hose barbs and hose clamps, etc. (truck runs better than it has in a long time so it has been sucking small quantities of air for quite a while at this location) - however this is a temporary repair. Still have the original plastic tank and it is in good condition as are the tank straps, etc.
Questions for this very knowledgeable group:
1) Does Chrysler still make the part(s) for the fuel suction and return (located on top of the tank)? or does someone else?
2) If parts are not available, what type of modification has been successful using the existing tank and level / float assembly, etc.
As these trucks age, I suspect that this component will be a really weak spot for many operators.
Thanks for your help in advance.
