fuel tank/tool box

I recently purchased a used toolbox/fuel tank combo. It was manufactured by Highway Products Inc. , Central Point, OR. It has the fuel pump and sending unit built into the tank. The previous owner used it for gasoline. Does anyone have one of these? Will a gas fuel pump work for diesel or will it need to be replace? Has anyone wired their auxillary tank so that it shows on the stock fuel gauge. Any advice/help is appreciated. Thanks

Call then at 1-800-toolbox . It was on their web site. The pump should work. you can plumb the line to dump the fuel into the main tank. Look at the vapor line at the top of the fuel filler neck. I think it is 3/4 or 1 inch. Get a t-fitting and splice it. I did mine a year ago and dont remember so good. Do a search under this forum and you will find pleanty of help and suggestions. You might want to think of a shutoff valve too if one isnt built in. I have everything wired to a lighted switch in the cab and just flip the switch to fill my main tank. Very easy once you lay it all down in your head. email me if you want my amatuer opinion. One more thing, make sure you have a filter in line too.
