Quick question

Whenever I open the fuel cap it turns extremely hard, pops and hisses like crazy. Is this normal or do I have perhaps a bad vent? It sounds as though it has a ton of vaacume in the tank. It even makes people jump at the fuel pumps.

My wife's gasser does that when I open it to fuel but my diesel has never done that. I would check that vent.

There is a little red cap on the breather for the fuel tank. It was supposed to be taken off at delivery. So slide up between the frame rail and the body of the bed poke your head over the frame rail you will see the return line and the suction line. The breather is to the front of the lines a litte plastic looking elbow deal take that cap off or clean the crud out of it and it should be better.

Thanks for the input. I will check the vent tube tonite after work. Would this not cause a fighting problem with the lift pump if it has to work under that much vaacume?

Just thinking out load, or even effect fuel delivery?
