Just like it says. Best mod ever (like I have any other to compare it to. . :D). Bought it online on tuesday, it arrived on Friday, I installed it on Saturday, filled up on Saturday night... . It took 33. 5 gallons in no time at all. The most I ever sqeezed into it before was about 30. 5 gallons, and that took about 10-15 minutes.

As far as install, the instructions are a no-brainer and easy to understand. It definitely would've helped to have another set of hands, but with enough brains (or lack thereof) and tie straps, one person can get the job done without too much effort. I think the hardest part was disconnecting the fuel lines without removing the tire/wheel and fender support. But then again I tend to be a little monkey boy and can fit into some weird places... The whole process took a little over a couple hours, but now I could probably do it in just over one. No doubt quicker with another person.

After the trip to the fueling station, I was left thinking, "why didn't I do this two years ago?" I guess I just didn't want to rip into the tank on my purdy truck... Whatever.

If anyone is having any hesitations about doing this. . DON'T. Buy it, do it, heck, bring it over to my house we'll make an adventure out of it.

It makes me wonder why Dodge didn't do it like this in the first place.

Scootergmc, I'd bring my truck over for an adventure but I already did Spooledup's mod on my tank. Yes, I agree with you ,it's a great improvement. After 13 years of very slow fill-ups on my F250, I almost enjoy fueling up my CTD... except for the cost.

I'm interested, but what does this do? I'm new and kinda lost here. Just north of LA btw, and always itching for a road trip.

Go to the TDR classifieds, TDR Member Basement Enterprises, Fuel tank mod, click on link.

Mine is sitting on top of my toolbox!

crabman :)

I did mine after i first bought the truck. No regrets here. I put 38 gallons in on friday, and i have a short bed. My DTE said 5, so i am guessing my tank holds about 40 gallons!

Gotta do it, gotta do it... I spent half my vacation pumping fuel!

And Hercules, I just read your sig. I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. Thank you and your family for the sacrifice.

It moved the tank vent from about 2 inches below the top of the tank to the very top. It can take about 3-4 hours if you do it yourself. Even less with two people.

You can fill your tank all the way up the the top of the filler neck in a fairly short time.

Don't have to worry about thermal expansion either. Some one on here has figured out that with the fuel coming out at about 50 degrees and warming up to ~95 degrees you only need to go about 12 miles (less than a gallon) and there should be no problems.

A quick way to get it is in the link in my signature. (I recieve nothing, just spreading the word)

I've got one on the way. This 30-minute fillup is killing me. I've got two friends that's already put them on theirs and it made a HUGE difference! I can't wait to get it put on!! They're talking like it's pretty easy -- the trick is just to run it dang-near empty.

Yeah, it's a pretty simple install and well worth it. Run the truck 20 or so miles past DTE=0 and you'll be good to go!

OK. Why am I also confused. I understand moving the vent a couple of inches up but why? I have an 06 Mega built in Jan 06 in Mexico. It fills just like my 2000 did. I have filled from a quarter tank and up.

all the vent does is let you fill it to the nuts very quickly. . i don't have the vent kit but i usually only fill to the point where the pay at pump cuts off...

Kinda what I thought. Wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get like 40 MPG by adding this hose! I personally am not going to drop my tank, drill holes in it and rig a hose so that it vents through the filler neck - to add 1. 5 gallons to each fill up. I have been filling at quarter to half lately cuz I can't afford a full tank!!

To each his own. This kit allows you to fill several more gallons fast.

Try it, you'll like it.

My new truck has 1900 miles on it. Bone stock. After 50 grand and about 500 hours of work in my 2nd gen, I am happy for another week or two with my stocker. . Nice to just start it and drive for a bit instead of wondering what mod I need this week. Of course my brake controller and radar detector mount kit are waiting for me on the nightstand. And I am eying an Edge Juice w/attitude. . Don't want to fry the 48RE though. Tired of transmission work for a while, put 6G in an ATS setup, nice but $pent way too much on my old truck. Here it is if anyone wants a steal. .
