Does anyone have a parts list or where I can get the fuel tank vent (or make one)? Im sick and tired of not being able to fill my truck to the same level each time I fill. Also, how do you keep the shavings out of the tank when you drill into it to do this procedure??

Any ideas and products are welcome;)

Man, I'll drink to that!!! I'm totally sick and tired of the fuel nozzle kicking off 3 or 4 gals from the top... the only way I found to fill the tank to the neck is to drizzle it in which takes 5 to 10 mins!! I'm way to busy for that noise!!

I take it this vent is another way for air/foam to escape?

See my sig. I've purchased two from them. One for me, one for my father in law. Best mod ever. Easy install. They have instructions on that site which will answer all your questions.

Those instructions are an excellent example of good installation instructions. They give the prospective buyer confidence that the product will work and that he/she can do the job. Very nice! I am using them to help replace my fuel tank with a tank that came with no instructions.

I just installed mine in my driveway this previous Sat. with a floor jack and hand tools.

The directions were great. My biggest problem was getting the " quick release "fuel line fittings and electical plug apart. I,m sure with a little practice they will come

apart easy enough, but I ended up breaking the electical plug.

I used two small zip-ties to make the connnection secure again.

After getting everything back together I was able to pump 38 gals. in it before it clicked off. ( When I removed the the tank there was about an inch of fuel remaining. ) Then about 3 or 4 more tenths and I could see fuel standing in the neck. I LOVE IT!

I only have the vendor's phone number: H. 812-656-8223 C. 717-808-7376

IMO it's an excellant product.

When we put mine in, we used a spade-type wood bit in my cordless drill to drill the hole. I reached in through the sending unit hole and held an old butter tub up against the top of the tank where we were drilling. Just be sure to drill slowly so the bit doesn't punch through and find your hand!

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. For anyone considering the vent kit install, it's not as lengthy as the instructions would make you think. There's a lot of detail in there because of all the tips and suggestions from TDR members. I did my '07 in about two hours taking my time. The newer trucks are easier to do simply because of the location of the fuel lines. Dodge switched to the newer in-tank-module in mid '04 I believe and spaced the fuel line connections out so you could actually remove them with your hand.

Great to know about the in-tank module lines being easier to remove. The thought of removing and breaking something is the only reason I have not ordered the vent kit yet. Looks like I don't have a reason anymore. :)

Just a heads up on the in-tank lift pump. It was year model 05 that DC went with the in-tank lift pump. A handful (I mean very, very few) of 04. 5's got them at the end of the year production due to running out of filter mounted lift pumps because of the change over to in-tank lift pumps due out in 05.

I'm gonna order mine today then, and let y'all know how it goes!

Please keep us (me) posted. I just ordered one but will not be installing it for a month or so. Blizzard today and no heated garage, will have to wait until spring and warmer weather. ;)

Is there an on line site to get a look at the installation procedure before ordering?

Right here. I got my kit really quick... . kudos to David for ultra fast shipping. He even lists his personal phone numbers on the instruction sheet if you have a problem with the install.

I plan on putting my kit on this weekend. Can't wait for quicker fill ups.

The only problem I've found is that when I fuel up at our local stop and rob truck stop, their pumps are so fast and the vent kit works so well that if I let it go until it automatically clicks off, I end up with fuel all over the ground and the side of my truck. It literally shoots out when it clicks off. But I'll take that any day over the 14 minute fill ups.

Also, I've found that once it does click off, there is a little pocket of air still in the tank or either the line. I always shake the bed, watch it gurgle and the level drop, then I top off. I love it.

There are tons of good reports on Sooled-up's vent kit. Mine is just one of the many. The kit has several years of happy customers, and Dave is continuing to refine an already top notch setup.

Thanks for the link.

I ordered the kit the middle of last year and haven't got around to putting it on. Is there anyone in the Denver area that I can take my truck to and do the install?
